"For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

Characteristics of the Mission Field in Brazil's Northeast
The importance of establishing Missions in the Brazilian northeast cannot be overstated. With over 12 million inhabitants in the rural northeast and over 10,000 small towns and communities lacking a Christian faith presence, churches and mission organizations must invest resources and missionaries in these areas.
Missions in northeast Brazil face physical challenges such as:
- Drylands, heat, and scarce water
- Broken families, domestic violence, addiction, lack of education, illiteracy, and poverty.
The Religious and Spiritual Climate:
- The strong tradition of worshipping idols and the historical merging of false religion with indigenous, gypsy, and Afro-Brazilian cultures make this region particularly challenging for missionaries and pastors.
- Many in this region resist the Gospel, as their faith is deeply ingrained as a cultural heritage. Abandoning it for Christianity is considered dishonorable in many places.
- The Brazilian Churches are hesitant to invest in these areas due to economic struggles and the desire for quick returns. Still, long-term investment is needed for evangelization, discipleship, and church planting.
"Christ-centered community transformation only becomes sustainable when future generations of disciples are mentored and entrusted to carry out the message of the Gospel."
