Renewal!

The Jacob’s Well team is slowly resuming some community activities, including spending time with families in person after a long period of online-only interaction. Especially exciting this past month was a visit to a very remote community, Cafúndo, which is only accessible by a 1¼-mile hike uphill. New curriculum was also developed on evangelism and spirituality and will be distributed throughout the Jacob’s Well communities.

On the U.S. front, we have been busy as a Board of Directors developing a new campaign for the Fall to strengthen and expand the support for current and future work in Brazil. We are very excited to share this new campaign soon! In the meantime, thank you for your faithful support this year; your commitment has proven to be a steady hand in the midst of an unsteady 2020. Below are some community-specific updates.

Riacho da Porta

Kaká has been able to return to supervising the workers at the farming coop, and a consistent buyer for the pepper crops has been secured. The team has been at work in the training center, completing some much needed cleaning, maintenance and painting.

Morada Nova

The hydroponics units continue to perform well with the harvests being sold to other community members. The in-ground farming and the pitaya crops have also been successful.

Santo André

Pedro & Kessia have restarted their outdoor church services, and the community farm had a great corn harvest that will benefit many families!
